The morning mist on the empty dance floor. Dew settles over the last dancer. A white cowboy hat. Cowboy vanished.
Cowboy försvunnen explores bottomless desire, exhaustion, mania, a certain boundlessness, and alienation in the perception of the self, as well as a collectively shared sense of isolation and loneliness.
These states of mind are often deeply physical, and therefore Cowboy försvunnen finds its origin in, and is shaped by, the body. The performance delves into the physical and affective realities of living in a late-capitalist society.
In Cowboy försvunnen, banal, strange, overly detailed fantasies about submission, desire, and escape, are shared on a dance floor – among dancing bodies.
