Finnish festival at KONTRÄR runs 21–23 November 2025. The festival highlights some of Finland’s most interesting artists right now – and makes Östgötagatan vibrate with karaoke, disco tanssi and contemporary performing arts.
Do you think there should be more exciting performing arts for the very, very young? Do you have difficulty sitting still in the hall when you would rather just blabber away? Do you simply long to experience art and culture with all your senses, together with an adult?
Let us present: VAU VAU – a baby performance about what is what and who I am . Here you are in the middle of the performance and are allowed to discover and interact in different ways.
Who is that?
A hand? A foot?
And what is that?
Is it me?
You will get entertainment and community in an exploratory and baby-friendly environment. The performance is aimed at children 0-24 months and adults of all ages. Freshly woken up, freshly quarreled, curious, with milk stains on your clothes, unwashed hair or rosy cheeks – you come here just as you are. Welcome from the everyday baby bubble to an artistic baby bubble!
Vauva means baby in Finnish. The performance integrates Swedish, Finnish, movement and music, and can be understood by everyone. We recommend one accompanying adult per child. A warm welcome!
The festival is created in collaboration with UusiTeatteri with the support of Teater Info Finland – TINFO and the Culture Fund for Sweden and Finland.
