Model Collapse is a video, theater, and installation work that uses Sophocles’ three Theban tragedies to navigate a contemporary internet landscape flooded with pornography, AI slop, disinformation, and algorithmically generated
psychopathologies.
The concept of “model collapse” comes from AI research and describes the phenomenon that occurs when an AI (or LLM, Large Language Model) is trained on its own material. Just as in genetics, this results in a degradation of the product. All video material and recorded speech is generated using AI tools.
